HP Deskjet 1180c is an A3 printer which is quite handy few years ago. But there is one problem, the product is vonished as discontinued , thus no support for Windows 7 . You may already search internet and found an Windows XP driver for 1180c. I've tried this also, the driver is installed succesfully in Windows 7, but when we do printing job, the printer is not responding at all.
So is there any hope to make 1180c works in 7? Here the tips.
- Unplug the printer from your USB.
- Add printer in Device and Printers, choose ports, use LPT1 first. When asked for printer type click WINDOWS Update. You must connected to internet. If the windows update succesfull you will get a list of additional printers in HP section. Choose HP 1220c and NEXT, finished the installation process.
- In your new printer icon, right click printer property and change your port to USB.
Try printing something and if not succesful you may want to try HP 1120c. I have try using 1220c with success in my 32bits Windows 7. I write this blog to get me remember all the process.
